BLACK IS IN!

I decided to paint the shelf in my dining room from white to black. I like it very much. We also cut our kitchen table down by a foot. I will take a picture of it when the new chairs arrive. Eric and I sanded the top till it was as smooth as glass. We will be staining it cherry to match the new chairs. We painted the base black.

THE NEW TILE FLOOR!!!!!!

It took a year to decide what I want on the floor. And now we are through with it and I love the tile we put down. It was alot of hard work, but it was worth it. 18 by 18 tile is extremely heavy but does wonderful things for the look of the room.Eric and I woke up a few weeks ago and decided if we didn't get the floor in now we would never get it in. Eric works 2to 10, Wednesday thru Sunday and I work 7 to 3:30 Monday thru Friday and sometimes Saturday. I hadn'd started work yet so we had a two week window to get the floor done. So we worked hard and did it. We love working on the house. Amy asked if we would ever finish the house? I'm sure someday we will. But Eric and I enjoy working on it.

We tiled the closet and started to prepare the stairs. We are going recover the stairs with oak.

This Eric placing the last tile. I placed most of the tiles, but I was starting to get really tired. So it was my turn to cut and his to lay the tile. The job took longer than we thought. It took over a week to lay the tile. And there was a slight mix up on the grout so it took us a little longer to get the grout in.

We took the baseboard heater out. We will finish putting the pocket heater in the kitchen wall this next week and it should heat the whole room.

The finished product. This is our beautiful floor. Eric put the toe kicks in today. I don't have a picture of those yet. I will be putting mop boards up in the next week. We love our floor.
